The most magical time of year is almost here. Holidays at the Disneyland Resort officially begin in the beginning of November and run until the first week of January. This gives you plenty of time to soak up all of the holiday magic Disneyland has to offer.
Of course there are more than 10 reasons to visit Holidays at the Disneyland Resort, but you gotta start somewhere. We took to the task of narrowing it down and think you'll agree once you see our list. Enjoy!
1 - The Decor: Sleeping Beauty Winter Castle, giant Christmas trees in both parks, Cars Land and more are over the top amazing during Holidays at the Disneyland Resort. There is no better feeling than walking down Main Street and being completely immersed in the holiday spirit. The Christmas tree on Main Street, U.S.A. alone boasts over 1500 Victorian-inspired ornaments. Nearly 10,000 poinsettia and 10,000 cyclamen plants decorate the Disneyland Resort for the holiday season.
2 - Haunted Mansion Holiday: This is easily one of my favorite parts of the holiday season. This famous attractions is magically transformed into a Nightmare Before Christmas celebration complete with Jack, Sally, and even Zero. Watch out for the deliciously intricate and surprisingly real gingerbread house in the ballroom scene.
3 - “it’s a small world” holiday: If you have never been to Disneyland during the holidays, seeing this ride all decked out is one of the prettiest sites in all of the park. What is normally a colorful display with every color from the rainbow is completely transformed into a winter wonderland of white and gold. Be sure to snap a picture before it gets to dark.
4 - All of the Shopping: All of the exclusive merchandise is just one of the many reasons to visit Holidays at the Disneyland Resort. Whether you're just window shopping or bringing home some serious souvenirs, there is so much to see and do. From personalized ornaments to hand-pulled candy canes, be prepared to shop till you drop.
5 - Holiday Treats: Walking around Disneyland Resort all day burns a ton of calories (right?) so go ahead and treat yourself to the many seasonal desserts. Gingerbread, peppermint and other seasonal flavors can be found throughout the resort. Some of our favorites are available at the Jolly Holiday Bakery on Main Street USA. Disneyland recently released new churro flavors for the holiday season including Sugar Cookie, Peppermint, and Gingerbread.
6 - A Christmas Fantasy Parade: Twice a day (3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.), everyone’s favorite characters dress for the season and ride floats from “it’s a small world” to Main Street, U.S.A. The parade is one of the longest-running parades at the Disneyland Resort, featuring over 100 performers. There's no better way to celebrate the season than watching this festive parade. Our favorite part of the parade is the little snowmen and their adorable outfits. The parade ends with everyone’s favorite jolly gift-bearer, Santa Claus. For best viewing, be sure to arrive early.
7 - Believe – in Holiday Magic Fireworks: The only thing more magical than fireworks at Disneyland are fireworks at Disneyland that end in snowfall on Main Street, U.S.A. A trip to Disney is just not complete without a fireworks show! The holiday fireworks, Believe…in Holiday Magic!, are set to instrumental versions of many traditional Christmas songs.
8 - Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure Park: This celebration is like a giant Food, Arts and Music Holiday Festival. You'll be surrounded by holiday traditions from around the globe. From holiday inspired food from around the world, to seasonal beer and wine offerings, you will not go hungry with some snacks from these carts.
Disney Festival of Holidays brings the spirit of the season to life through lively entertainment, festive food and beverage and special traditions. Children will enjoy craft stations and everyone will appreciate the delicious food at Festival Foods Marketplace, featuring a mix of holiday dishes and beverages that bridge many diverse cultures and family traditions.
9 - World of Color – Season of Light: The new holiday version of this nighttime spectacular is, well, spectacular. You'll want to see it for yourself. This one has made some of our Pixie Planner team cry on multiple occasions. The nighttime spectacular "World of Color – Season of Light" wraps guests in the warm glow of holiday magic. Playing cherished holiday music sung by beloved artists with memorable moments from Disney animated films, this sparkling winter fantasy is magical for all ages.
10 - MaxPass: Not only does MaxPass make getting your Fastpasses a breeze during the busy holiday season, it includes PhotoPass. Pack your best Christmas sweaters and smile for the camera! Ask your Pixie Planner how to get MaxPass for your next trip to Disneyland.
