Set Sail with us on the Disney Treasure preview cruise

The Pixie Planner has been on many incredible adventures, but our recent 3-night cruise aboard the Disney Treasure for a VERY special preview was truly magical! From our pre-stay at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to the experiences onboard Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, here’s a behind-the-scenes look at this unforgettable journey. Spoiler alert: You’re going to want to book your own Disney Cruise after reading this!

Day 1: Pre-Cruise Magic at Walt Disney World

Our adventure began at the iconic Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Pulling up to the resort felt like stepping into a dream. This definitely felt like a bucket list adventure! While our room wasn’t ready right away, we took the opportunity to explore the stunning property before heading to the parks.

Magic Kingdom was our first stop, with two clear missions: ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and experience Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Both delivered beyond expectations! We then made our way to Epcot, with a singular goal: FOOD. The Festival of the Holidays was in full swing, and the Cookie Stroll became our unexpected obsession. From Reuben Croquettes to Hazelnut Linzer cookies, we sampled our way through the day. It’s all in the name of research for our clients, of course!

That evening, we returned to the Grand Floridian to watch the fireworks right from the resort. Pure magic.

Day 2: Boarding the Disney Treasure

The next morning, we had a quick but delicious breakfast at Gasparilla’s Island Grill before hopping on the Disney Cruise Line bus to Port Canaveral. Pulling up to see the Disney Treasure in all its shiny, brand-new glory was surreal. It’s not every day you get to sail on an inaugural preview sailing!

After a seamless check-in, we were welcomed aboard by Genie from Aladdin. Lunch was a feast of options—pizza, burgers, taco bowls—before we checked out our Family Verandah Stateroom. We were pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was, even with four adults. The split bathroom design? A lifesaver!

We spent the afternoon exploring the ship, capturing content, and attending the Sail Away Party, where we may have shed a tear. Dinner that evening was at 1923, an upscale restaurant with a nostalgic nod to Disney’s origins. The chicken mushroom noodle dish was divine, though the mint chocolate chip sundae stole the show. The day ended with a spectacular performance of Seas the Adventure and a relaxing visit to the Rainforest Room Spa.

Day 3: A Full Day at Sea

Our first full day at sea on the Disney Treasure was packed with Disney magic. After indulging in Mickey waffles at breakfast, We headed to the Rainforest Room for a blissful hour of relaxation. Next up was a screening of Moana 2 in the onboard theater, complete with popcorn.

One of the day’s highlights was hearing from Lee Unkrich, the creator of Coco, and Anthony Gonzalez, the voice of Miguel. It was inspiring to learn about the creative process behind the beloved film. We also toured some of the ship’s most luxurious suites, including the stunning two-story Epcot Tower Suite and the regal Rajah Royal Suite.

Dinner that night was at Plaza de Coco, an immersive experience that felt like dining in the middle of the movie. The ice cream sundae? Life-changing. The evening concluded with a pirate party, fireworks on deck, and a live Moana show. Pure magic!

Day 4: Castaway Cay Adventures

Land ho! We arrived at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, where the day was filled with fun and relaxation. After a quick shopping spree (because more Mickey ears are always a good idea), we explored the island’s beautiful beaches, water park, and adults-only Serenity Bay. Activities ranged from bike rides to jet ski rentals and even a 5k run for those feeling ambitious.

Back on the ship, we treated ourselves to some spa time before conquering the AquaMouse water coaster. Dinner at Worlds of Marvel was a Marvel fan’s dream, hosted by Baby Groot and filled with trivia fun. The evening wrapped up with a breathtaking performance of Beauty and the Beast and cocktails at the Haunted Mansion Bar. Exhausted but elated, we reflected on how every moment exceeded our expectations.

Final Thoughts

Disembarking the Disney Treasure was bittersweet. Every corner of the ship radiated Disney’s signature magic and creativity. From the top-notch dining and Broadway-caliber shows to the thoughtful design of every space, the Disney Cruise Line experience is unmatched. If you’ve ever wondered whether a Disney Cruise is right for you, let us assure you: the answer is a resounding YES. Whether you’re traveling with kids, as a couple, or on a solo adventure, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
